Terms of Service

NEXT PLAY is an online coaching and career-transition platform for current and former college athletes. It offers a Transition Assessment, a six-week guided program, a 12-month roadmap, goal tracking, career exploration, resources, a community and mentor connections.

NEXT PLAY is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the NCAA or any athletic conference, and it is not an official service of any university unless your university has separately arranged access for you.

NEXT PLAY is not a substitute for professional mental-health care. NEXT PLAY is not mental-health treatment, therapy, counseling or medical care, and nothing on the Service is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. Mentors and community members are not acting as licensed professionals when they use the Service.

The NEXT PLAY Transition Assessment is a coaching and self-reflection tool and is not a clinical or psychological diagnosis. It has not been scientifically validated. Results are starting points for reflection, not predictions or prescriptions.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure and tell us promptly about any unauthorized use of your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

The Service has four kinds of accounts, each with different access:

• Athletes use the assessment, program, roadmap, goals, resources, community and mentor requests. Athletes control whether a progress summary is shared with their university.
• Mentors are former college athletes approved by NEXT PLAY. Mentors see only a limited profile of athletes who have requested them and may exchange messages with those athletes.
• University administrators are staff of an athletic department with institutional access. They can invite athletes, manage cohorts, send announcements and view progress summaries only for associated athletes who have turned on sharing.
• NEXT PLAY administrators operate the Service, manage content, review mentors and moderate the community.

Roles are assigned by NEXT PLAY or by an authorized invitation; you may not misrepresent your role or attempt to access data outside it. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what each role can see.

NEXT PLAY offers a Free plan and a paid NEXT PLAY Member subscription, and athletes may also receive access through a university arrangement. Current plan details and prices are shown on our Pricing page.

Payments are processed by Stripe. NEXT PLAY never receives or stores your full card number. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled. You can cancel at any time from Profile → Billing & Membership; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period. Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

We may change prices for future billing periods. If we do, we will give you notice in advance and the change will apply at your next renewal.

When you post in the community, message a mentor or otherwise share content, you agree to follow our Community Guidelines (the “Locker Room Rules”). In particular, you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful content;
• give medical, clinical or psychological advice, or present yourself as a licensed professional when you are not;
• spam, advertise or solicit other members without permission;
• share anyone else’s private information without their consent;
• attempt to access accounts, data or areas of the Service you are not authorized to use, or interfere with its operation;
• scrape, copy or resell the Service or its content.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines.

You keep ownership of what you create on NEXT PLAY — assessment answers, reflections, exercises, goals, roadmap entries, posts and messages. You give NEXT PLAY a limited license to store, process and display that content only as needed to operate the Service for you and as described in our Privacy Policy. Community posts are visible to other athletes on the platform.

The program, lessons, assessment, designs, text and software of the Service belong to NEXT PLAY or its licensors. You may use them for your personal, non-commercial transition planning. You may not copy, distribute or create derivative works from them without our written permission.

Mentors volunteer their perspective and experience. NEXT PLAY reviews mentor applications but does not guarantee any mentor’s availability, advice or outcomes. Career information and third-party resources are provided for general information only, and links to third-party sites are not endorsements.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” NEXT PLAY does not guarantee any particular career, employment, academic, financial or personal outcome from using the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NEXT PLAY will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid NEXT PLAY in the twelve months before the claim arose, or $100 if you have not paid us.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account Settings. If you have an active subscription, please cancel it first from Profile → Billing & Membership. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect other users or the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
