Privacy Policy

• Account and profile: name, email, password (stored hashed), role, school, sport, position, athletic status, transition timing and other onboarding answers, and any photo you upload.
• Assessment answers: your responses to the NEXT PLAY Transition Assessment and the results generated from them.
• Program work: lesson progress, reflections, journal and exercise responses.
• Goals and roadmap: the goals, due dates, statuses and 12-month roadmap entries you create.
• Community posts: posts and comments you publish in the athlete community.
• Mentor messages: mentor requests and messages you exchange with a mentor.
• Subscription status: your plan, billing interval, renewal/cancellation dates and Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. We never receive or store your full card number.
• Basic product analytics: simple usage events (for example, “lesson completed” or “goal created”) with timestamps, used to understand and improve the Service. These events never include the text of your reflections, journal responses, assessment answers or messages.
• Technical data: information needed to keep you signed in and secure the Service, such as session cookies, IP address and browser type.
• Contact requests: what you send us through the contact form or mentor application.

• to provide the Service — your assessment results, program, roadmap, goals, community and mentor connections;
• to manage your account and subscription and send service emails and in-app notifications;
• to keep the Service safe, moderate the community and prevent misuse;
• to understand aggregate usage and improve the program;
• to respond to your questions and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your reflections or assessment answers for advertising.

The Transition Assessment is a coaching and self-reflection tool and is not a clinical or psychological diagnosis; it is not scientifically validated. NEXT PLAY is not mental-health treatment, and we do not collect health records.

You. Athletes can see all of their own data.

Your university — only if you allow it. A university administrator can see your progress summary only if you are associated with that university and you have turned on sharing. The summary is limited to: your name, sport, school, program completion percentage, lessons completed, whether you completed the assessment, goal counts and when you were last active.

Universities never see your assessment answers, reflections, journal responses, mentor messages or goal details. You can turn sharing off at any time in your profile.

Mentors. A mentor only sees a limited profile (your name, school, sport, position, class year, graduation year, athletic status, interests and bio, plus the topic and message in your request) for athletes who have requested that mentor. Mentors do not see your assessment answers, reflections or goals.

Other athletes. Community posts and comments are visible to other athletes on NEXT PLAY, shown with your first name, last initial and sport.

NEXT PLAY administrators. A small number of authorized NEXT PLAY staff can access data when needed to operate, support, secure and moderate the Service.

We use a limited set of processors who handle data on our behalf:

• Totalum — application hosting, database, file storage and transactional email.
• Stripe — payment processing, subscriptions and the customer billing portal. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

• Access and correction: view and edit your profile, goals and program work at any time in the app.
• University sharing: turn progress sharing with your university on or off in your profile.
• Subscription: manage or cancel from Profile → Billing & Membership (see our Refund & Cancellation Policy).
• Deletion: delete your account from Profile → Account Settings. We then delete or de-identify your personal information, except records we must keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons (such as payment records held by Stripe).
• Other requests: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as data portability or objection). Contact us to make a request.

We use role-based access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit who can access it. We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations.

NEXT PLAY is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
