Community Guidelines

The Locker Room Rules.

A great locker room is built on trust. These rules apply to community posts, comments and mentor messages on NEXT PLAY. Last updated: September 30, 2026.

01

Respect every teammate

Athletes here come from every sport, division, background and stage of transition. Disagree with ideas, not people. Encourage, don’t belittle.

02

No harassment or hate

No bullying, threats, intimidation, sexual harassment, or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other protected characteristic.

03

No medical or clinical advice

Share your own experience, but don’t diagnose others, recommend medications or treatments, or present yourself as a licensed professional. Point teammates toward qualified professionals and campus resources instead.

04

No spam or self-promotion

No ads, affiliate links, sales pitches, fundraising, recruiting for outside programs or repeated off-topic posts. Don’t send unsolicited offers to other members or mentors.

05

Protect privacy

Don’t share anyone else’s personal information, screenshots of private messages, or details about teammates, coaches or staff without their consent. Think twice before sharing your own sensitive details publicly.

06

Keep it honest

Don’t impersonate others, misrepresent your background or share information you know is false.

Report content

If you see something that breaks these rules, use the report option on the post or comment, or reach us through our contact page. Reports are reviewed by NEXT PLAY administrators and the person you report is not told who reported them.

Moderation actions

Depending on how serious a violation is, NEXT PLAY may:

  • hide or remove the content;
  • send a warning;
  • temporarily restrict posting, commenting or mentor messaging;
  • suspend or permanently close the account;
  • contact emergency services where we believe someone may be at immediate risk of harm.

These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. If you believe a moderation decision was a mistake, contact us and we’ll take another look.

If you or a teammate is struggling

You don’t have to handle it alone.

The NEXT PLAY community is not a crisis service and is not monitored around the clock. If you are thinking about harming yourself or are in emotional distress in the U.S., call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.

Your campus counseling center and athletic department sports psychology staff can also offer confidential, licensed support.

NEXT PLAY is not a substitute for professional mental-health care.
